New Kia Sedona teased again
The new Kia Sedona will be unveiled at the 2014 New York Motor Show, but it's not coming to the UK
Kia has released a second teaser image of the brand new Sedona ahead of its unveiling at the New York Motor Show on April 16.
The latest image shows the mid-size MPV in profile and, as with the first teaser, suggests a radical design overhaul. The new Sedona is sleeker, more angular, and benefits from a higher waistline.
Such a radical overhaul is in keeping with the Korean manufacturer’s recent efforts to separate itself from the competition by adding a unique personality to each of its cars, and this latest offering from Kia certainly hasn’t been left out.
As the first teaser (above) shows, there’s a new gigantic front grille and sweeping headlights to help the people carrier stand out.
‘Adventure seekers’ are the main customers being targeted here and the Kia Sedona has plenty of room for eight passengers and their luggage.
There will probably be a 3.3-litre V6 GDi petrol engine with around 290bhp and 252lb ft of torque underneath the bonnet, whilst a range of diesel CRDi engines is also likely to be available.
Customers outside the US shouldn’t get too excited because the new Kia Sedona will only be sold in the States. European production of the previous generation Sedona was culled in 2011 due to dwindling demand and declining sales.
