Lexus recall: 10,000 UK cars affected
Lexus IS and GS models included in model recall to fix potentially faulty fuel delivery pipes
Lexus is to recall almost 10,000 cars in the UK, including some IS, GS and LS models, to fix faulty fuel delivery pipes.
The action is part of a worldwide recall of 759,000 vehicles. The problem could lead to a possible fuel leak, though the manufacturer has said that cars affected are still safe to drive.
Models affected are the IS 250, IS 250 C, IS F, GS 300, GS 460, GS 450h, LS 600h, LS 600hL and LS 460, built between January 2005 and September 2010. The popular CT200h is not part of the recall.
There are no reports of any accidents or injuries relating to the issue, according to Lexus. The manufacturer found the fault through its worldwide field report quality checks.
Owners of affected cars will be notified by Lexus, and asked to take their car to their nearest dealer to check for the issue, with work taking around three to four hours.
Customers can check whether their vehicle is affected using a registration look-up function in the owners section of the main Lexus website.
This recall has been announced at the same time as three other Toyota global recall programmes, none of which affect UK-registered vehicles.
