Lexus RC F and RC 350 F Sport make European debuts at Geneva Show

Japanese manufacturer shows off range-topping versions of new coupe

The Lexus RC 350 F Sport was officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, while the Lexus RC F made its European debut.

The RC 350 gets the 3.5-litre V6 engine already used across other models in the range producing 314bhp. This is paired with an eight speed automatic gearbox with manual paddles as standard. And while we saw the standard car at the Japan Motor Show last year, this is the first time we’ve seen the F Sport variant.

The F Sport car gets Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) as standard. The system gives the driver two damper settings – Normal and Sport – and automatically adjusts the dampers for more comfort in the former mode, and for greater body control when cornering at speed in Sport.

Exterior styling has also been ramped up a notch, with the upgrades inspired by the more extreme RC F model.

The F Sport model gets F-specific mesh on the grille, more aggressive front and rear bumpers, and 19-inch wheels with contrasting silver and black spokes are standard. Inside the car, the new model boasts an F-Sport steering wheel, metallic pedals and a premium gearshift lever.

The RC F gets a new 5.0-litre V8 with 450bhp and more than 520Nm of torque. And while we saw the car first at the Detroit show earlier this year, it’s the first time we’ve seen the car in Europe.

There was also space on the brand’s show stand for the RC F GT3, which will make its racing debut in 2015 in the 24 hour Nurburgring endurance race as well as the Super GT series in Japan.

The car features a modified version of the new V8 engine used in the RC F, but adds a further 90bhp to push the total power up to 540bhp.
