UK prices revealed for updated 2018 Mazda 6

Refreshed Mazda saloon to hit UK showrooms later this year, with a 2.5-litre petrol engine now offered

Mazda has announced UK prices and specifications for the recently updated Mazda 6, which goes on sale this summer following on from its debut at the LA Motor Show last November.

Prices will start from £23,045 for the SE-L Nav+ model with a revised 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine, producing 143bhp. An automatic model comes with a slight premium, priced from £24,845. Higher spec SE-L LUX Nav+ models will also be part of Mazda's initial offering, priced from £24,445.

Diesel options will be covered by one powertrain for now - a 2.2-litre Skyactiv-D unit producing 148bhp. It'll be priced from £25,445 for the SE-L Nav+ model, pushed to £26,845 for the higher spec LUX car. A more powerful 2.2-litre diesel producing 181bhp is available from £28,095 in Sport Nav spec, and a new 2.5-litre petrol offering with the same power output and boasting cylinder deactivation technology also arrives in the UK. It'll be limited to range topping GT Sport Nav+ trim, priced from £30,695. Prices for the new Mazda 6 Tourer have arrived too, starting from £23,975.

From the outside, the Mazda 6 doesn’t look much different from the existing model. The standard front grille has been updated with a new mesh design, while the headlamps have also been spruced up with chrome detailing. The revised Mazda 6 can also be specified with 17 and 19-inch wheels along with a new shade of metallic red paint.

Inside, the new 6 features a new eight-inch infotainment screen, while high-spec models come with a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Buttons on the centre console have been simplified and downsized, as have the air vents above.

Mazda has also tweaked the saloon’s chassis and revised the suspension geometry aimed at giving it a smoother ride and improved agility. A wider range of Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE safety technology features on the updated Mazda 6, too, with Blind Spot Monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Advanced Smart City Break Support all standard fit on the new high-spec, higher priced UK cars.
