McLaren Special Operations unveils bespoke packages
McLaren announce new customisation packs for its 650S, 12C and P1, allowing owners almost limitless tailoring
Supercar buyers looking for that personal touch may be interested in a range of official new customisation options for the McLaren 650S, 12C and P1 hypercar. Created by the British firm's Special Operations department (MSO), the bespoke options packages are designed to meet growing demand for McLaren models tailored to the individual taste of customers.
Five categories will now form the basis of the McLaren Special Operations range. The first is 'MSO Defined' which will cover visual customisation of the supercars, from the carbon fibre exterior styling seen on the 650S MSO back in June, to Formula 1-inspired instruments.
MSO Bespoke is the unique tailoring service that provides a huge array of personalisation for owners of any McLaren. Custom paintjobs, a huge variety of hand-crafted upholstery, bespoke body changes, the sky is pretty much the limit.
According to the firm, 95% of P1s built have unique features added by the MSO Bespoke division, which was also responsible for the mad McLaren X-1 concept back in 2012.
MSO Limited deals with the various small-number special edition models the firm is producing, like the 50th Anniversary 12C and 12C Spider. Meanwhile, MSO Heritage is the customer care programme to maintain and restore all previous models, such as the McLaren F1 and Mercedes-McLaren SLR.
Finally, MSO Programmes is the division that organises the exclusive track days and driver training for models such as the McLaren P1 GTR. It also builds, maintains and prepares the car for the exclusive track days held at top F1 circuits across the globe.
Expect to see more weird and wonderful developments from the new McLaren divisions in the near future.
