Mercedes C-Class 2014 AMG Sport: all-new pics
Pictures and details of the new Mercedes C-Class AMG Sport range have leaked online
The first pictures of the new Mercedes C-Class AMG Sport have surfaced on the internet. Pictures leaked from a Mercedes blog site reveal the more aggressively styled car, which is expected to be officially revealed at the Detroit Motor Show in January.
Just like Audi’s S line and BMW’s M Sport models, the AMG Sport cars are designed to offer all the style and aggression of the flagship AMG models but without the high price tag or thirsty performance engines.
There aren’t any official details on the C-Class AMG Sport yet but we’re expecting 18-inch alloys and lowered suspension to go with the new, more aggressive bodykit fitted to the car in these pictures.
We also haven’t got any pictures of the interior yet but it’s likely that AMG Line models will come fitted with a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel and a set of supportive sports seats.
Mercedes normally makes the AMG Sport trim level available on most of the engine line-up, so you’ll be able to choose from the usual selection of C180 and C200 petrol models, as well as a C400 V6 petrol and a C220 BlueTEC diesel.
When the full-blown C-Class AMG model arrives late in 2014, we’re expecting it to be powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, featuring very similar styling to this AMG Sport car.
Prices for the standard C-Class haven’t yet been revealed and there are currently any details on how much Mercedes will charge for an AMG Sport model either. What we do know is that elsewhere in the range – like in the case of the CLA – going for AMG Sport commands around a £2000 premium over basic Sport models.
