New Mercedes Vito: UK prices and specs revealed
Mercedes reveals full pricing of its 2015 Vito van range, on sale in the UK in April and starting at £17,855 (excl. VAT)
Mercedes has announced full details of its third-generation Vito panel van and minibus, ahead of it going on sale in the UK in April. The range begins at £17,855 (excl. VAT) for the Compact van and rises to £32,090 (excl. VAT) for the top-spec Tourer minibus.
For the first time the Vito will now be offered with both front and rear wheel drive powertrain formats. There's two wheelbases and three body lengths to choose from, plus a crewvan and the minibus.
The entry-level £17,855 Compact van, designed to rival the VW Transporter and Vauxhall Vivaro, gets a new Renault-sourced 1.6-litre CDI diesel engine producing 87bhp and 230Nm of torque, powering the front wheels. It achieves 45.6mpg with CO2 emissions of 163g/km. Standard equipment includes cruise control, Bluetooth and a 5.8-inch TFT audio display with USB connectivity.
Additional safety kit includes ESP, Adaptive Brake Lights, Attention and Crosswind Assist, Hill-Start Assist, daytime running lights, Rescue Assist QR codes, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. A seven-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox is opttional.
The Euro 5 emissions standard 1.6-litre CDI engine also comes in a 112bhp power output, while new Euro 6 standard 2.1-litre diesels power rear-wheel drive models with outputs ranging from 134bhp to 187bhp. These models utilise AdBlue additive technology to improve efficiency, with even the fastest model managing 47.1mpg and 158g/km CO2 emissions.
Prices for the Crewvan start at £19,390, while the full Tourer minibus kicks off at £21,405. The Tourer is available in PRO or SELECT spec, with eight seats as standard with the option of specifying nine seats.
