Porsche Panamera Executive long-wheelbase saloon unveiled at LA Motor Show

New long-wheelbase version of the Panamera is available across almost the entire range, and there's a new entry level V6 too

Porsche has used this year’s LA Motor Show to debut a long wheelbase version of the all-new Panamera, dubbed the Panamera Executive.

Alongside the new Executive model is a new entry-level engine. Porsche has added a 326bhp turbo V6 to the line-up, bringing the starting price of the Panamera down to £66,386.

Order books for both the new long wheelbase model and cars with the new 3.0-litre V6 are open, with the stretched Executive wheelbase available on the Panamera 4, 4S, E-Hybrid and Turbo.

The new Executive models are marked out by a wheelbase that has been stretched by 150mm, giving increased rear passenger space. There are also big changes inside, with Porsche adding a panoramic roof, heated seats with multi-way powered adjustment in the rear, plus adaptive air suspension with an electronically-controlled damper system as standard.

Buyers also have the option of adding a new centre console in the rear, which features two airline-style folding tables. Not only that, but Porsche also offers a rear seat entertainment package, featuring two 10.1-inch displays bolted to the back of the front seats. The displays can also be removed and used as tablets when required.

The new 3.0-lite V6 turbo, available in the rear-wheel drive Panamera and all-wheel drive Panamera 4, is a replacement for the old 3.6-litre V6 from the previous generation car. However, it develops an additional 20bhp and uses 13 per cent less fuel than before. It comes paired with an eight-speed PDK gearbox as standard and capable of a claimed 37.7mpg. The economy champions in the Panamera range are still the diesel and hybrid models, though.

Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo likely to arrive in 2017

The long wheelbase Executive model range kicks off with the Panamera 4 powered by the entry-level 3.0-litre V6 turbo. Prices start from £76,034, a premium of £6,622 over an equivalent standard wheelbase model.
