The updated Renault Captur, first revealed at this year's Geneva Motor Show, will be priced from £15,355 Renault has confirmed. Prices rise to £23,145 for top spec models.

All models comes with emergancy brake assist, cruise control, alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry, air con plus a DAB radio.

Step up to Dynamique Nav trim (£16,645) and a seven-inch touchcreen, Bluetooth and larger 17-inch alloy wheels are thrown in. Dynamique S Nav (£18,195) adds two-tone bodywork, privacy glass, parking sensors and full LED headlamps.

Top spec Signature X Nav (£19,795) and the all-new Signature S Nav (£21,405) feature leather upholstery, heated seats and TomTom sat nav. Signature S Nav models are set apart by Nappa leather seats, aluminium pedals and chrome exterior detailing.

The engine range includes two petrol (898cc Tce 90 and 1.2-litre TCe 120) and two diesel engines (1.5-litre dCi 90 and dCi 110). A dual clutch automatic gearbox is available on the higher powered petrola and lowere powered diesel engine.

Most of the Captur's visual updates revolve around new personalisation options, rather than revised body panels. Nonetheless, Renault has updated its Nissan Juke and Citroen C4 Cactus rival where it matters, and there's new technology on board, too.

The biggest external change to the Captur is a revised headlight design, and higher spec models will come with full LED headlights. LED daytime running lights have also been revised and form a distinctive new C-shape motif. As before, there's a skid plate up front, which has also been revised.

A new chrome strip has been added to the grille, in-keeping with the recent update to the platform-sharing Clio supermini, while at the back there's a new C-shaped lighting signature for the tail-lights and a new rear bumper skid plate. Three new alloy wheel designs – a set of 16-inch rims and two sets of 17-inch wheels – are now available. While the skid plates hint at some sort of off-road ablity, the updated Captur is still exclusively front-wheel drive, with the only concession to off-roading being a switchable traction control system and all-season tyres.

Best crossovers to buy now

In terms of customisation choices, there's a fixed-glass roof now available on the options list for higher spec cars. Two new exterior colour options – Desert Orange and Ocean Blue – line up alongside a new silver roof colour, too. Changes in the cabin include seven new personalisation packs that are available in a range of colours, depending on which colour combo you choose for the exterior.
