The Celerio is a much better effort – it’s a truly well-sorted little car.
Suzuki’s previous city car, the Alto, was an oddball of a car that felt out of place on British roads. The Celerio though is a much better effort – it’s a truly well-sorted little car.
While it can’t match the class for driver enjoyment or interior quality, it leads the way for fuel efficiency. It’s spacious, too, with room for five at a push, and the biggest boot in the class.
The Celerio is cheap to buy, too, and all trim levels are well equipped with even base cars getting alloy wheels, DAB radio and Bluetooth. Air-conditioning comes as standard, and so does a USB port to connect a mobile phone.
Where the baby Suzuki falls down is on faster roads, where dead steering and loud tyre roar make for a less relaxing experience than rivals like the Skoda Citigo.
For those after a well-equipped city runabout, though, the Celerio has to be on the shortlist – no other car offers so much kit for so little outlay.
