With its svelte lines, the latest Clio is one of the most stylish superminis, but with the longest wheelbase it’s a big car, too. It’s one millimetre lower than the Fabia, but well proportioned dimensions hide its height.
From Dynamique trim up, the Clio gets a soft-touch dashboard with chrome inserts and air vent surrounds. The dash layout is modern and well laid out, while the whole cabin has an upmarket and uncluttered ambience.

The Clio can’t match the Fabia for rear legroom while head space is fractionally tighter than in the Corsa. As with the Vauxhall, you get three headrests as standard. Electric rear windows are fitted to the Dynamique grade onward
The Clio’s 288-litre boot is a decent size, and as with the Skoda, the seat base tumbles to allow the backs to fold flat in a 60:40 split. The Renault has a full-size spare wheel, but it’s carried externally under the car,
