You’ll never stop talking with Plantronics’ M1100 hands-free, as it uses the latest voice recognition tech.

Vocalyst software lets you communicate without touching your mobile, whether by making calls or social networking. To start, log on and set up.

You get a phone number to access the advanced services (free for a year, then £25 a year or £2.49 a month thereafter). We saved this in our contacts as Vocalyst.

On the move, with the device in our ear, we held the multifunction button and said “Call Vocalyst”. The service then asks you which feature you’d like to use.

We said “listen to Twitter”, and our Twitter timeline was read back to us. After that, we sent messages, set reminders and posted Facebook updates.

It’s hard to remember all the voice commands, and we’d like a manual volume switch, but it all worked well. Audio is clear for hands-free calls, and it’s small, light and well priced.

Verdict

It's a Bluetooth earpiece for your mobile phone, and has advanced features.
