Pressure washer maker Kärcher calls its new K6.610 model the Beast – and it’s easy to see why. The 2,500-Watt, water-cooled motor can deliver a 150-Bar jet, and you feel it when the variable lance kicks as you pull the trigger.
You notice this when using the Kärcher to clean alloys, as it leaves only a thin film of dirt to be lifted with a brush or mitt.
It also blasts dead bugs, even though the variable lance’s maximum setting is still a fan rather than a needle jet. This cuts the risk of damaging paint or tyre sidewalls.
At the other end of the lance’s range, soap can be delivered. It foams well and the rate can be adjusted – handy for using the supplied bodywork brush. Not so good is the Plug & Clean Detergent system; while it makes swapping cleaners a breeze, the storage cap is loose and easily knocked off.
There’s a decent-length hose and power cable. The former is mounted on a free-running reel, and the nine-metre hose pulls out easily, with little risk of toppling the washer. Rewinding is simple.
You get a T300 rotary patio cleaner and powerful non-car-friendly dirt blaster lance as part of the package, but you’ll need to use these to justify the price.
