Jabra BT2080 Bluetooth headset

Price: £29.99 Contact: www.jabra.co.uk

Following the release of the Pro and Go Bluetooth headsets, the new BT2080 is being hailed as Jabra’s easy-to-use, everyday hands-free kit.

There are dedicated switches for turning the device on and off, changing the volume and, most importantly, to answer or end calls. The latter is the only button on the front of the sleek casing.

Clever Eargel technology makes the BT2080 comfortable to wear in your ear, and there is a hook to loop over the top for added comfort. If you’re worried about battery life, the manufacturer promises an impressive eight days of standby time, while StatusDisplay gives you one-glance battery life info, as well as connection status.

Talk time is also generous – Jabra claims that you’ll be able to chat for up to six hours.

The BT2080 tips the scales at a mere 8g, and uses Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, so it doesn’t require a PIN.

Multi-coloured lights let you know when it has paired.

Although there’s no noise-cancellation facility offered, it does get voice dialling, and at £29.99, represents decent value for money. The BT2080 will be on sale from 1 September.

Verdict

Maker’s claim: “The no-nonsense Jabra BT2080 is effortless to use and the epitome of simplicity.”
