Clarion CZ109E head unit

MP3 for all with stereo

Listening to your digital music in the car can often mean you have to put up with a mess of wires in your cabin and poor audio quality. But this new head unit from Clarion has all the bases covered.

The CZ109E can play regular CDs, as well as rewriteable discs and those encoded with MP3 files. It also has a 3.5mm mini-jack auxiliary input for standalone MP3 players and iPods, plus it incorporates an RDE-Eon radio tuner with 18 FM presets and six for MW and LW.

An optional BLT373 Bluetooth module can be added, allowing you to make hands-free calls safely and legally on the road.

An impressive 4x50-watt output ensures the unit delivers excellent sound quality, while the Z-Enhancer and Magna BASS EX sound customiser features allow the audio to be adjusted to suit your taste.

The rotary volume control is easy to adjust on the move and the clear white LCD display and blue button illumination look good and are easily visible in poor light. There’s an optional remote control, while the facia can be detached for security.
