Fuelsure

Easy way to prevent pump disasters

Pouring petrol into a diesel tank is an all too common mistake – and can land you with a repair bill costing thousands of pounds.

This new device from Fuelsure promises to prevent that happening by keeping the cap locked in place until you have inserted the correct nozzle.

Installing the brightly coloured product is a simple job of identifying which of the included four screw fittings is suitable for your vehicle.

You also need to remove your standard filler cap, as this is replaced by the new unit. Its vivid purple colour is a great visual reminder, and it certainly made us take note of what pump we were using. However, some may find it a little garish, and there are no alternatives. Inserting the diesel nozzle released the cap without fail, although it did require a firm push. It also means you need to insert the nozzle, remove it from the cap then re-insert into the newly opened filler hole, which we found a bit fiddly.
