Onboard is even more of a revelation, with space for every journey, plus advanced technology that keeps you fully connected. With the new Explorer, Ford has focused on the important details that really matter for easy family motoring. That’s why you’ll find handy features such as the MegaConsole storage space; a huge 17-litre compartment between the front seats where you can keep items such as a large handbag, a laptop or water bottles for the kids. The ample 445-litre boot offers plenty of room for storing day-to-day baggage, while a moveable floor creates a space underneath which is helpful for neatly stowing the charging cables.

To support you on your journey, the Explorer includes cloud-connected navigation and an EV trip planner which takes a load off your mind by providing live traffic updates, alternative routes and live charging availability. It’s all underpinned by Ford’s latest SYNC Move infotainment setup working through an impressive, centrally-mounted 14.6-inch adjustable touchscreen; the beauty of the system is that it’s so easy to use and it even comes with sophisticated voice recognition, so you can concentrate fully on the road ahead.

Convenient charging

You can be reassured that Ford is working to make every aspect of charging your EV simple and convenient. The Ford BlueOvalTM Charge Network now features more than 32,000 AC and DC public charging points across the UK and is part of a network of over 600,000 charging points across Europe, which means you can say goodbye to any notion of range anxiety and feel comfortable every step of the way - wherever your journey takes you.

If you’re able to, then installing an EV home charger is a great way to ensure you’ll always have a battery that’s topped up and ready to go. Ford is putting you in the driving seat by partnering with Octopus Energy in the UK and ChargeGuru in Ireland to provide a variety of EV home chargers and installation services – all you have to do is simply choose the one that’s right for you.

Effortless choice

Simplicity is the key to happiness, and Ford has made sure that the Explorer range is straightforward and easy to understand. There’s a choice of Extended Range versions with rear- or all-wheel drive – the perfect option if you need to cover longer journeys on a more regular basis – while a RWD Standard Range model will be available to order later in 2024, and could be the ideal family EV for more urban adventures. After that, it’s just a case of which specification suits your needs best: either Select or Premium, although both trim levels come generously equipped.

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, and by arranging your own 48-hour test drive* in the All-Electric Explorer, you’ll be able to see how it really does offer all you need and more.
