Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class, Jaguar XE and Alfa Romeo Giulia - pictures

The wraps have been pulled off Audi's A4 saloon.

By using the MLB Evo platform the A4 has shed 120kg in weight.

The A4 is Audi's rival to the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class.

The exterior takes styling cues from the larger S-Class, and the C-Class' neat lines, sculpted sides and swept-back headlamps provide plenty of head-turning kerb appeal. 

The Mercedes C-Class will also be available in hybrid versions.

The Mercedes C-Class is the first car to be fitted with their rear-wheel-drive architecture (MRA), cutting 70kg from the body.

Jaguar’s 2.0-litre 161bhp diesel engine has impressively low CO2 emissions of 99g/km. 

The two petrol engines on offer are 2.0-litre turbocharged units with outputs of 198bhp and 237bhp.
