New Audi A5 and S5 coupe 2016 unveilied - pictures

<p class="p1">The new Audi A5 was revealed at Audi's home in Ingolstadt. Based on the A4 saloon, the all new two-door coupe will be released in November, followed by the Sportback in January 2017.</p>

<p class="p1">Following the coupe and the Sportback, the Audi A5 range will also include a convertible and RS5 model, plus a plug-in hybrid model is expected after 2018.</p>

<p class="p1">Despite the A5 having a slightly longer wheelbase, Audi has reduced the weight of the sporty coupe by 60kg compared to the previous model.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="p1">This Audi S5 model has more of a sporty look with a bonnet bulge, wider air intakes and chrome bumper detailing.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="p1">Prices are yet to be announced for the Audi A5, but we expect a similar starting cost to the current version of £32,000, followed by a £44,000 price tag for the S5.</p>

<p class="p1">The 2.0-litre four-cylinder units are available with a manual 6-speed gearbox and a 7-speed automatic. Customers can opt for an eight-speed tiptronic box with the larger 3.0-litre diesel and petrol S5.</p>

<p class="p1">Quattro all wheel-drive comes as standard on the Audi A5 with the larger engines, as well as optional rear differential and variable ratio steering.</p>
