£180k Audi R8 V10 Plus Selection 24h special edition launched
Audi marks motorsport success with R8 V10 Selection 24h special edition. Only 24 to be built.
Audi has revealed a special edition version of the R8 V10 Plus to celebrate its motorsport success, including the triumph at the famous Nurburgring 24 Hours race. Called the Selection 24h special edition, the R8 special pays homage to the R8 LMS's 323 race wins since 2009.
The special edition will be limited to only 24 models and uses the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 as the standard R8 Plus model, which develops 602bhp. It can sprint from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds before topping out at 205mph. Audi actually developed the GT3 R8 LMS racer alongside the road car so the two are very closely related.
As standard, the Selection 24h special edition comes with Audi's dynamic steering, adaptive dampers and laser lighting. There's also a unique paint finish which is designed to replicate the one on the R8 LMS. The diffuser, front bumper and engine cover are also made from carbon fibre, while an R8 24h logo has applied to the sideskirts.
The Audi R8 V10 Plus Selection 24h special edition will cost from €229,000 (£180,448) in Germany but it is unknown if the model will be made available in the UK.
