BMW reveals 7 Series 40 Jahre editions for Frankfurt
Special edition versions of BMW's 7 Series will be limited to 200 examples
BMW has revealed a new special edition 7 Series trim level celebrating 40 years of the firm’s luxury limo and just in time for a debut in the metal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The new 7 Series 40 Jahre models will be available across the entire 7 Series range, meaning a spread of six, eight and 12-cylinder engines, all-wheel-drive plus regular and long wheelbase options. Limited to 200 units, every 40 Jahre 7 Series can be tailored to meet specific customer requirements, and will be assembled at BMW’s Dingolfling plant in Munich. Sales will commence in October.
Customers can choose two paint finishes from BMW’s ‘Individual’ palette – a Frozen Silver or a dark blue Petrol Mica. The M Aerodynamics Package is fitted to the car as standard, introducing sportier looking bumpers and side skirts, while 20-inch V-spoke alloy wheels also make the cut. Exclusive 40 Jahre badging is placed on the B-pillars and doorsills.
In the cabin, the 7 Series 40 Jahre models receive BMW Individual Merino fine grain leather upholstery in a choice of two colour contrasting shades – Smoke White and Cohiba or Smoke White and black, while white piping lines the seats and matches the white Alcantara liner.
BMW will offer a choice of piano black wood inserts or brown Eucalyptus trim, and comfort seats are fitted in both the front and rear of the cabin. Aside from these tweaks, the full range of equipment tweaks found on the 7 Series’ option list will also be available for buyers to spec as they please.
