BP Chargemaster unveils new 150kW ultra-fast charger
The Ultracharge 150 can deliver around 100 miles of range in 10 minutes, and will appear at 50 BP Chargemaster sites in the UK this year
BP Chargemaster has unveiled a new 150kW ultra-fast electric car charger that will start being rolled out across its Polar public charging network this year. The Ultracharge 150 is the first UK-built ultra-fast charger and will be able to deliver around 100 miles of range in as little as 10 minutes, the brand has said.
Approximately 100 of the new units will appear across 50 BP Chargemaster sites by the end of 2019, with a total of 400 expected to be operational across the country by the end of 2021.

The Ultracharge 150 is compatible with both CCS and CHAdeMO connections and features an interface that has been designed to be as intuitive and easy to use as possible. The units will be available on both a pay-as-you-go and a subscription basis.
BP Chargemaster has also announced it will continue the rollout of its 50kW rapid chargers, which also offer 43kW AC charging, to enable as many EVs as possible to be compatible with the Polar network.
David Martell, chief executive of BP Chargemaster, said: “We are very proud to be bringing this new 150kW ultra-fast charger to market, which will be available on the Polar network within the coming months.
“We shifted consumer expectations for rapid charging with the introduction of our 50kW Ultracharge unit and we are confident that the Ultracharge 150 unit will do the same for 150kW ultra-fast charging.”
Polar is currently the largest public charging network in the UK, with BP Chargemaster already operating in excess of 7,000 EV chargers all around the country.
