Salon Prive car show round-up

The 2013 Salon Prive car show opened its doors yesterday and saw the debut of numerous prestigious motors

Held in London’s Syon Park, the 2013 Salon Prive is the UK’s most exclusive motor show. Taking place from 4 September to 6 September, it showcases some of the most exotic and valuable cars in the world.

Several UK firsts from Futura Design, Clark Abel, Spyker, Vencer, Zagato were unveiled at the show yesterday, along with brand new models from manufacturers including Bentley, Maserati, McLaren, Rolls-Royce and Startech.

A new addition to the 2013 show and what is likely to be a popular attraction is the Hyper Car lawn. The 720bhp Pagani Huayra, £1 million Koenigsegg Agera R, 230mph McLaren P1 and fully electric French hypercar the Exagon Motors Furtive eGT will all be on show.

Other highlights include the Icona Vulcano, a £2.5 million V12 hybrid hypercar, which could be put into limited production. Fresh from its debut at Pebble Beach, the 375bhp Spyker B6 Venator Spyder Concept will make its European debut.

There will also be a collection of exclusive concept cars and prototypes at this years show. The Ford Evos, which will influence the future design of the next generation of Ford models will be on display, alongside the fully electric British supercar the Lightening GT, which will be put into production later this year.

More household names such as the Audi R8 V8 Spyder, RS 6 Avant and RS 4 Avant along with the new BMW M6 Grand Coupe and M5 saloon, will be on display.

The 2013 Salon Prive will also pay tribute to the Mercedes-Benz Gullwing and Ferrari F40 as they celebrate their 60th and 25th anniversaries respectively.
