Lamborghini LP670-4 SV

Lightweight Murcielago gets boost in power and a top speed of 212mph

We couldn’t have a list of truly fast cars without a V12 Lamborghini in the mix! And the lengthily-named Murcielago LP670-4 SV, is the latest and greatest raging bull to be let loose by the Italian firm.

Wearing a huge rear spoiler and even more dramatic bodywork, the car is essentially a stripped out and pumped up version of the already outrageous LP640. The 6.5-litre V12 has been tweaked to deliver 670bhp, hence the new name. The unit also provides 600Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, which is transmitted through a beefed-up version of the four-wheel-drive system to propel the newcomer from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

Over 100kg has been shaved from the LP640’s kerbweight thanks to carbon-fibre panels and mechanicals as well as an ultra-light exhaust system. And that means the Super Veloce possesses electric acceleration – 0-60mph takes 3.2 seconds while the top speed is 212mph – and all this for a paltry £265,937!
