Brands with the largest line-ups typically perform worst, so the appearance of Suzuki and Volvo high on the list is unexpected. However, on closer examination, the extremely high Volvo figures are a result of the way it files its recalls. Many of these are for the same problem but affect a different batch of chassis numbers, so its place at the top of the charts needs to be taken in context.
