DS 3 Le MakeUp gets Givenchy makeover
DS joins forces with Givenchy to create special edition make-up inspired DS3
Companies in the fashion industry don’t often attempt to design cars, but French company Givenchy has teamed up with DS to make a special edition of the DS3 hatchback. The DS3 Givenchy Le MakeUp is said to appeal to “women who are always on the go”, and is available to order now.
Available in hatchback or DS3 Cabrio form, the Givenchy Le MakeUp edition is limited to just 500 models. Customers can choose from the manual or automatic 108bhp three-cylinder PureTech 110 turbo petrol engine available for the standard DS3, though no other engines are available.
To appeal to its mystery target buyers, the DS 3 Givenchy Le MakeUp features a special addition in the centre armrest – a bespoke Givenchy makeup kit, consisting of Le Rouge lipstick, Noir Couture mascara, Prisme Visage face powder, and Le Vernis nail polish in an exclusive ‘Whisper purple’ colour created especially for the car. Any self-respecting fashionista wouldn’t be seen in public without nails to match their optional purple convertible roof surround, after all.
Other interesting additions included exclusively developed LED lighting for the sun-visor mirrors, and a unique ‘granular textured’ Opaline White paint job. The roof (or roof surround on cabrio version), door mirrors and centre wheel caps are finished in Whisper Purple. Special 17-inch black alloy wheels are fitted and ‘Givenchy Le MakeUp’ badges can be found on the floormats, centre armrest and the doors.
The DS3 Givenchy Le MakeUp has lots of technology as standard, including a seven-inch touchscreen, DS Connect Box with emergency assistance system, rear parking sensors, hill-start assist and LED headlights. The ‘Auto Pack’ is also fitted, which includes automatic air conditioning, heated and folding door mirrors and automatic headlights. The interior is awash with Basalt black leather, featured in the seat upholstery, steering wheel, gear knob and instrument panel.
The DS3 Givenchy Le MakeUp started at £19,395 for the manual hatchback, increasing to £20,895 for the automatic. That’s £4,100 more than the DS3 Elegance on which it’s based. The manual DS3 Cabrio costs £21,695 and the automatic £23,195; £3000 more than the standard Elegance model.
