Ready to inspire the next generation of buyers with its bold new look, advanced connectivity and intelligent tech, the new Kuga is perfectly set up to lead the way towards an electrified future, with a choice of improved, more efficient powertrains that include self-charging hybrid (FHEV) and plug- in hybrid (PHEV) options.

Read on to discover how the new Ford Kuga offers you more...

Style and substance
First impressions count, and the new Ford Kuga really stands out on the road. With refinements including sharper headlights, a reprofiled grille, body-coloured accents and a choice of sportier trims within the range, there’s a Kuga to seamlessly fit with any lifestyle.

The rugged new Kuga Active model brings a more muscular exterior, featuring silver scuff plates, extra body cladding and a unique grille design with a smart gloss black finish, while an increase in ride height and an additional Trail Mode - that alters the car’s traction control and throttle response - means you’ll feel supremely confident driving on a range of different surfaces.

Electrified power & efficiency
In addition to the strong 148bhp EcoBoost petrol engine, the Kuga range includes self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, either of which could be the perfect starting point to begin your electric journey. The 178bhp 2.5-litre DuraTec FHEV (180bhp in all-wheel-drive form) allows short term electric propulsion and offers a great combination between power and fuel efficiency, whilst also reducing the CO2 footprint compared to a conventional engine.

Buyers seeking extra performance and efficiency returns will be drawn to the impressive 240bhp Kuga plug-in hybrid model. Using the same DuraTec petrol engine as the self-charging hybrid, the PHEV manages 0-62mph in just 7.3 seconds, while its 14.4 kWh battery allows you to drive for up to 42 miles* on all-electric power - perfect for the daily school runs and shopping trips. And, the beauty of the PHEV setup is that, once the battery is depleted, the petrol engine continues to operate like a regular hybrid, providing relaxed, eco-friendly driving without having to deal with any notion of range anxiety.

More technology, more freedom
At the centre of the new Kuga’s design is a digital ecosystem of advanced onboard technology, created to make life easier on the road. A bigger 13.2-inch central touchscreen now oversees many of the car’s functions, with the display running the manufacturer’s latest-generation SYNC 4 infotainment system.

The powerful tech provides cloud-connected navigation, with up-to-date traffic information and road condition data included free of charge for 12-months (a subscription of £5.49 per month required thereafter), plus a 5G data connection enables over-the-air (OTA) updates for complete convenience and to help improve the vehicle over time. Live location data can also provide information on any upcoming driving restrictions and will automatically switch your Kuga PHEV model to eco mode or electric only when you enter an ultra low emission zone, while you can create custom “green zones” to encourage low-emission driving around locations such as schools, playgrounds and places of work.

Continuing the new Kuga’s tech-fest are features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with optional Intelligent Cruise Control, a 360-degree camera and even map-based dynamic headlights; designed to detect when a turn is coming for improved visibility.

More practicality
Practicality is an integral quality of Ford family cars, and the latest Kuga continues that trend. The maximum towing capacity has now increased to an impressive 2,100kg for both the AWD self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, while the onboard tech plays its part, too; able to calculate tow-friendly routes to get you to the action with the minimum of fuss.

Flexibility is also a key priority, and the Kuga’s user-friendly rear seats are able to slide fore and aft to help maximise either luggage space or passenger room - a clever solution from Ford to help deal with the competing demands of everyday family life. You shouldn’t come up short whichever configuration you choose, because there’s plenty of interior space and up to 536 litres of boot capacity on offer.

More You
Once you’ve decided on one of the Kuga’s four distinctive trim levels - Titanium, ST-Line, ST-Line X or Active - you can add your own personal touch from a wide range of optional extras. It could be the impactful ‘coast-to-coast’ LED light bar that runs from headlight to headlight, the power opening panoramic sunroof, or a selection from the five premium body colours and eight alloy wheel designs that makes your Kuga truly special.

More sense
You can actually have a brand new Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid on your driveway from £40,555 (recommended on the road price), while the PHEV model is also available with 0% APR over 3 years with Ford Credit. If you buy before 30th September 2024.** The good news continues for PHEV business users, too, who will be paying less Benefit in Kind (BiK) tax due to a reclassification from the 12% rate to just 8% - all thanks to Ford innovation and an increase in the new Kuga plug-in hybrid’s all-electric range.
