An iconic design for a new era, the all-electric Ford Explorer is a bold, adventure-ready SUV that offers no compromises. A trusted name steeped in Ford’s American roots, the all-new Explorer leads the way with a distinctive style, the latest technology and an advanced electric powertrain that will keep you on the move - wherever you are.
Created from the ground up, the innovative new Explorer is infused with pioneering Ford spirit; designed and engineered in Europe for UK buyers to experience complete freedom on the road. New Ford Explorer: make your own adventure.
Iconic design, intuitive tech
The all-new Explorer sets the tone for Ford’s vision of a family of bold, electric vehicles; the first in a new range of EVs that offer a distinct character, yet remain true to the brand and inexorably linked to the heritage of the Blue Oval.
Just a glance around the Explorer’s exterior begins to tell the story; its futuristic, aerodynamic lines showcase a striking style, while the large alloy wheel options - ranging from 19 to 21 inches - help to create a strong, purposeful look. A range of carefully curated body colours means you can further personalise your Explorer - accentuating features such as its blade-like LED headlights and clever floating roof design, along with more rugged details like its front silver scuff plate and body cladding that runs the length of the car.
Advanced technology runs throughout the all-new Explorer, ensuring you have everything you need to make each journey comfortable and completely relaxed. From the convenient keyless entry and start function, to the cloud- connected navigation with in-built EV trip-planner that provides live traffic updates and charging availability, Explorer is set up to help take the stress out of your travel. There’s even a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with heating, massage and memory settings to ease you along the way.
The SYNC Move connected infotainment system features an adjustable (tilting up to 30°) 14.6-inch touchscreen delivering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with wireless smartphone charging, while audiophiles will appreciate the integrated soundbar and option of a 10-speaker B&O sound system.
Pioneering practicality
Perfectly proportioned to take on the demands of longer family journeys, the all-new Explorer is also compact enough to easily navigate more congested city streets. With up to 450 litres of boot capacity and plenty of passenger space, the Explorer is made even more user-friendly with the addition of clever touches such as the 17-litre MegaConsole storage space that sits between the driver and front passenger, and the My Private Locker feature - a small lockable space discretely located behind the infotainment screen.
An impressive all-electric range of up to 374* miles from a full charge means you can take on any journey with complete confidence, while the Explorer’s fast charging capability will keep you on the move - able to replenish the battery from 10 to 80% in just 26 minutes.**
Driving the all-new Explorer brings exclusive access to the BlueOval Charge Network too, benefiting from more than 32,000 public charging points across the UK, with providers such as IONITY.
Safety first
The new Explorer is available as either a rear or all-wheel drive model, with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems to ensure that you stay completely protected on the road. In addition to the convenience of front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera and intelligent adaptive cruise control, the Explorer’s Driver Assistance Pack brings 12 ultrasonic sensors, five cameras and three radar sensors, all with one mission: to help keep you safe on your journey. Features such as a blind spot information system, a lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition are all actively working to help avoid an accident - providing extra reassurance and peace of mind.
The focus on safety technology continues with a driver alert system that monitors your driving and signals when to take a rest, while Active Park Assist detects available parking spaces and controls the steering wheel during a parking manoeuvre - all at the touch of a button.
Exploring ownership
Ford has made the all-new Explorer range simple and easy to understand with two Extended Range models available from launch. You can choose a 77kWh rear-wheel drive version with 282bhp, or a slightly larger 79kWh variant with all-wheel drive, a seriously impressive 335bhp and a hot-hatch rivalling 0-62mph time of 5.3 seconds. Completing the lineup is the Select 52kWh Standard Range model that will be ready to order from late 2024, offering 168bhp and up to 239 miles*** of all-electric range.
There’s no need for a series of complicated trim levels either, because Ford has furnished its all-new Explorer with a generous level of standard equipment. The Select specification delivers all you could need for family life, while the Premium line is on hand if you’re seeking just a few extra luxuries.
And of course, there’s a number of ways you can put a new Explorer on your driveway. Financing and leasing options are available with Ford Credit and Ford Lease, while if you’re a company car driver, you’ll already be aware of the savings to be made through the low 2% Benefit in Kind (BiK) ‘24/25 tax rate for electric cars. Salary Sacrifice schemes are also a win-win for both employers and employees - it’s a completely flexible approach and you’ll usually find that servicing, maintenance, insurance and breakdown cover are included in the monthly payments. So what’s stopping you?
