New Ford Focus Active to be priced from £21,900
Focus hatch and estate get rugged Active makeover with sales beginning in January
The new Ford Focus Active will cost from £21,900 in the UK, the company has confirmed.
Available in either an estate or five-door hatchback, the new model features a raised ride height, roof rails, rugged exterior styling and two new selectable drive modes called ‘Slippery’ and ‘Trail,’ designed for off-road conditions.
Controlled by the Focus Active Crossover’s ESC, traction control and ABS systems, the two new drive modes can be selected to either reduce slip on snow, mud and ice, or maintain momentum in softer terrain, such as sand.
Engines available for the new Focus Active Crossover include Ford’s 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre EcoBoost units delivering 123bhp and 148bhp respectively. Customers also have the option of 1.5 litre or 2.0 litre diesel engines.
Inside, the Focus Active Crossover features Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system, operated by an eight-inch touchscreen display and voice commands. The system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and will support the FordPass Connect 4G WiFi hotspot for an additional monthly fee.
Other driver assistance technologies featured on the Focus Active include adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist and active park assist 2, which operates the gear selection, as well as the throttle and brakes, for fully automated parking.
Available to order in January, prices start at £21,900 for the base 1.0-litre EcoBoost Active hatch, rising to £29,250 for the range-topping 2.0-litre EcoBlue Active X Estate.
