It's said to be smaller and closer in spirit to the original 1964 Ford Mustang - a car which made its own screen debut in the James Bond classic, Goldfinger.

The on-screen debut marks something of a milestone for the Ford Mustang - IMDB has chronicled an impressive 3,200 appearances to date of the car throughout both film and television. The famous muscle car even has its own page on IMDB, which called on the efforts of over 100 contributors to compile the vast amount of entries.

Need for Speed Movie

Need for Speed is an upcoming 2014 American action film, based on the EA video game series of the same name. Aaron Paul stars as the lead role, and some might recognise him from the hit series Breaking Bad where he played the charismatic drug dealer Jesse Pinkman.

EA collaborated with DreamWorks Studios in order to create a film version of Need for Speed but an original script was penned for the film so it isn't an exact replica of the game.

Need for Speed video game

The film is based on the video game Need for Speed; a series of racing video games spanning several instalments to include popular titles such as Need for Speed: Rivals, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Need for Speed: World.
