Ford Mustang Convertible Ecoboost 2015 review - pictures

The Ford Mustang is coming to the UK in right-hand drive for the first time. Here, we test the convertible version with a 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine under the bonnet. 

It packs 312bhp and will go from 0-62mph in six seconds. 

The Mustang Ecoboost uses software to enhance the four-cylinder engine's noise. A V6-like roar is pumped into the cabin, but there's no getting away from the fact there's a deficit of cyclinders. 

There's fully independent suspension front and rear, but chopping the roof off has made the car softer and looser. 

Around town the body flexes over potholes, and on country roads there's more pronounced body wobble and shimmy. 

On European roads, the Mustang feels a big car. It's 158mm longer and 60mm wider than an Audi A5 Convertible.

There are three driving modes to choose from: Normal, Sport+, Track and Wet/Snow, while there are also three steering modes to choose from: Comfort, Normal and Sport. 

Despite the Mustang's size, the rear seats are still best reserved for children. Two adults will fit, but only for small journeys.
