Genesis at-home test drive programme announced for the UK

Potential UK customers can now sample the Genesis range with demonstrator cars being delivered directly to their door

Genesis has expanded its at-home test drive service to the whole of the UK, allowing customers to drive the latest Genesis models on familiar roads. Hyundai’s luxury brand arranges delivery of each test car to the customer’s front door, with the scheme looking to aid its UK market push.

The at-home test drive programme has already been operating in London and the South East of England, but is now being expanded to cover the whole of the UK. To facilitate the nationwide scheme, Genesis has employed a series of driving consultants across the country, and is plotting numerous ride and drive events throughout the UK to allow more potential customers to get hands-on with its cars.

Genesis hasn’t detailed whether its entire line-up will be included in the scheme, but if so, buyers will be able to sample cars like the G70 saloon, the Audi Q7-rivalling GV80 SUV and the new GV60 EV

With the test drives taking place on each customer's local roads, Genesis hopes that the programme will help bring the merits of each of its models to light. Speaking about the announcement, Genesis UK managing director Andrew Pilkington said:

“2021 proved to be a momentous year for Genesis as we launched in the UK and we are thrilled to now offer nationwide test drives for customers in the UK to further cater for the growing demand for Genesis. Our priority was to offer something unique to customers and we have been overwhelmed with demand for test drives. Since launch we have seen a 50/50 split of Genesis cars sold in London and outside of London, which was the key motivation for expansion.

“As well as expanding our we-come-to-you test drives, customers will be able to see and experience the Genesis brand and products at various locations across the UK throughout the year.  We will be running a series of both display and customer ride and drive events in major UK cities, as well as attending organised events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed and Salon Privé.”
