New Hyundai i20 to cost from £10,695
Prices and specs have been released for the 2015 Hyundai i20, and the supermini will cost more than rivals from Vauxhall and Skoda
Official pricing and full specs have been revealed for Hyundai's second-generation i20 supermini. The range will start from £10,695 when it hits showrooms in January 2015 – that's slightly more than the new Skoda Fabia and significantly pricier than the Vauxhall Corsa, which costs from £8,995.
The i20 line-up kicks off with the 74bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine in S spec, with electric front windows, remote locking, tinted windows and USB connectivity. An extra £750 gets you the S Air version, which adds manual air-con. S Blue is only available with the 74bhp 1.1 CRDI diesel, at £12,445. This adds stop/start and low-rolling-resistance tyres to achieve CO2 emissions of 84g/km.
But Hyundai believes its new Ford Fiesta rival will sell best in SE spec, which is available with the 83bhp 1.2 and 99bhp 1.4-litre petrol engines, as well as the 74bhp 1.1 and 89bhp 1.4-litre diesels. Starting from £12,725, it features 16-inch alloys, cruise control, Bluetooth, a lane-departure warning system and reversing sensors.
Finally, there are top-spec Premium and Premium SE models, costing from £13,725 and £14,725 respectively. Premium adds a smartphone docking station, auto-dim rear view mirror, automatic wipers and lights, climate control, LED running lights and tail-lamps and projection headlights with cornering function.
Premium SE adds luxuries such as a full-length panoramic glass sunroof, heated front seats and front parking sensors. With the 1.4-litre CRDI diesel, it tops the range at £16,725.
We'll be bringing you the first full review of the new Hyundai i20 on Monday 17 November, so stay tuned...
