Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition offers more kit for less cash
Hyundai announces limited-run 'Turbo Edition' celebrating new three-cylinder petrol engine, priced from £12,975
Hyundai is clearly proud of its new downsized three-cylinder turbo petrol engine; so much so, it's launched a special edition i20 in tribute. The new Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition of the Vauxhall Corsa rival is on sale now from £12,975.
As the name suggests, its only available with the new 99bhp 1.0-litre Turbo unit, which emits 104g/km of CO2 yet gets the five-door i20 from 0-62mph in 10.9 seconds. It's no hot hatch but it does give you more equipment for less money than the model it's based on.
The Turbo Edition is based on SE spec from the standard i20 range, which already comes with Bluetooth, a DAB radio, cruise control and a leather multifunction wheel. The special version adds to that list a seven-inch touchscreen with sat-nav and a rear view camera, plus auto lights and wipers. You get seven years subscription to TomTom Live traffic and weather services free of charge too.
Despite all that, the £12,975 pricetag is £1,050 less than the i20 with the same engine in SE spec. It's in showrooms this month, and coincides with the i20s new TV advert launch.
