Jaguar Land Rover releases £1,200 retro infotainment system for classics

Jaguar Land Rover’s new classically styled infotainment system mixes modern in-car entertainment with old-world motoring

Jaguar Land Rover has released a new infotainment system tailored for use in its classic models. Compatible with most negative earth vehicles, such as Land Rover Defenders and Jaguar XJs, the system combines modern audio and navigation features.

The head unit incorporates a customisable satellite navigation system (with support for 32 languages), a DAB digital radio, smartphone connectivity and internal microphone, as well FM and AM analogue reception.

Sized to fit a single DIN head-unit slot, JLR’s Classic Infotainment System features a 3.5-inch touchscreen integrated between two traditional rotary controls. Buyers can select a choice of black or chrome facias to suit Jaguars, and a choice of black or silver brushed aluminium faceplates for Land Rovers.

The unit will cost £1,200 and go on sale in September. A fitting service is also offered at Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works in Warwickshire, as well as select authorised Jaguar and Land Rover dealers.
