Reader spies a production-ready Jaguar F-Type Coupe ahead of its reveal at the LA and Tokyo Motor Shows
The Jaguar F-Type Coupe is nearing its official reveal at both the LA Motor Show 2013 and Tokyo Motor Show 2013, but this is our best look yet at the new Jag. Eagle-eyed reader John Spencer spotted this camouflaged production-ready F-Type Coupe testing in Warton, Lancs.

We’ve already seen an official photo of the F-Type Coupe but it was an aerial shot and didn’t give away too much detail other than a panoramic glass roof – possibly fitted as an option.
Viewed in profile, the shots clearly show the svelte and arching roof that's almost identical to the C-X16 concept, which heralded the arrival of the F-Type in 2011. It’s likely to cost less than the roadster when it arrives in showrooms in Spring next year, with a price tag of around £52,000 for the entry-level 335bhp V6 model.
The C-X16 concept that previewed the all-new F-Type featured a 475bhp hybrid powertrain, combining the entry level V6 engine with an electric motor. However, that is likely just to remain in concept, as the Coupe will be offered with the same trio of engines available in the roadster.
However, what is a possibility is a more powerful version of the F-Type V8 S. The addition of a solid roof makes for a stronger and more stable chassis, which should be able to handle more power. A high-performance R or RS model is possible, with the 542bhp engine from the XKR-S the most likely to feature under the bonnet.
More details will be announced following the cars unveiled at the LA and Tokyo Motor Shows in the coming weeks.
