Jaguar has unleashed a new special edition XJ at the Beijing Motor Show, celebrating 50 years of the flagship XJ nameplate.

The anniversary edition XJ rides on a set of new 20-inch double five spoke alloy wheels, while the front grille mesh and vents are finished in black. Unique XJ50 badging adorns the rear and side vents. A four strong colour palette - Fuji White, Santorini Black, Loire Blue and Rosello Red - from the XJ’s catalogue is offered. The bodykit is inspired by the Autobiography version of the car.
In the cabin, the XJ50 boasts two-tone leather upholstery with soft-grain diamond-quilted seats and Jaguar logos embossed on the headrests. An XJ50 logo is found on the centre armrest, while unique XJ50 treadplates are fitted too. Finally, the gearshift paddles behind the steering wheel are anodised.
Under the bonnet is Jaguar’s 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, producing 296bhp. It means that regular wheelbase versions of the XJ50 will be able to sprint from standstill to 62mph in 5.9 seconds, sending power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Both regular and long wheelbase versions of the XJ50 are offered, with UK prices starting at £74,280.
