Jeep Wrangler Red Rock edition might just be the ultimate Jeep
Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept revealed at SEMA confirmed for limited edition production run
A Jeep concept revealed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas has been confirmed for a limited production run in the US. Just 50 of the Red Rock Jeep Wranglers will go on sale as Jeep celebrates 50 years of its Easter Jeep Safari event by creating this ultimate model.
It’ll be the most limited edition production Wrangler ever made and is based on a Red Rock Responder concept revealed earlier this year. The concept on show at the SEMA show, which majors on crazy US concepts, features a two-inch lift kit and 35-inch tyres although these will be options come production time.
The Wrangler is a trademark convertible model with canvass coverings but is set apart by a custom red paintjob and unique decals on the bonnet. LED headlamps and fog lights are also added for the special model while the rubicon winch will be given a Jeep warranty for the first time. It’s been treated in a special coating to protect from rust.
Demand is expected to be high as the standard Jeep Wrangler is the most customised car in the Fiat Chrysler Automobile family. The average spend through the Mopar aftermarket sister brand on Wrangler accessories is $700 (£454). That’s everything from cheaper floor mats to pricey suspension upgrades.
Pietro Gorlier, head of Service and Parts (Mopar), said: “It’s a celebration of how to personalise a car. The availability of accessories is one of the first five reasons to buy a car along with price and fuel consumption." Prices and on-sale dates for the limited edition Red Rock Wrangler model are yet to be confirmed.
