New Kia Sorento Vision brings seven-seat SUV’s price down below £45k

Kia has introduced a new entry-level trim for its large Sorento family SUV, and is available with diesel, full-hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains

Kia Sorento Vision

With the new facelifted Kia Sorento not available until later in 2024, Kia has decided to introduce a new ‘Vision’ entry trim level to freshen up its current seven-seater range.

The new Kia Sorento ‘Vision’ will start from less than £45,000 and sits below the ‘Edition’ specification, which has been the sole option for buyers since July 2022. The previous ‘2’, ‘3’ and ‘4’ trim structures were ditched to help streamline the production and delivery process for its large SUV.

The Sorento ‘Vision’ features chrome and silver exterior details, rather than the black trim on Edition-spec models, while paint options include two exclusive colours: Gravity Blue and Steel Grey, neither of which have been offered in the UK before. LED headlights and a panoramic tilting/sliding sunroof are both standard-fit, as is a powered tailgate.

The cabin features black leather upholstery, eight-way power adjustable and heated driver and front passenger seats, plus a heated steering wheel. As you’d expect, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also come as standard, along with parking sensors for the front and rear, and a reversing camera.

Vision models are equipped with almost all of the same safety features as the more expensive ‘Edition’ cars, with parking collision-avoidance assist and the hands-free remote parking system being the only exceptions.

Both the Sorento ‘Vision’ and ‘Edition’ are available with a choice of diesel, full-hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains, all of which come with all-wheel drive.

The 2.2-litre diesel is the cheapest option available, starting from £44,995 in ‘Vision’ trim, while the Sorento Hybrid is powered by an electrically assisted 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine and starts from £46,495.

The plug-in hybrid Sorento uses the same engine, but features a much larger 13.8kWh battery that allows for a pure-electric range of up to 35 miles. It’s the most efficient of the trio, but also the most expensive starting at £51,495.

The Sorento ‘Vision’ is available to order now, with the first examples expected to be delivered to customers before the end of the month.
