The Sportage is only available with four-wheel drive. All models have a torque transfer system that shifts drive from the front wheels to the rear as slippage is detected. The lock button selects permanent 4WD for off-roading.
Another familiar off-roader feature found on the Sportage is the split tailgate. Two handles below the Kia badge operate the rear door and separate screen, which is handy for loading bags in a tight space.

As it’s a proper SUV, the Sportage is the tallest car here, and it gets traditional off-road styling cues, such as the big bumpers and rubbing strips. One neat touch is the design of the roof bars, which run down to the rear ligh
With a 667-litre capacity and the longest load length with the chairs down, the Kia has a big boot. What’s more, the rear seats fold flat easily. The system lowers the cushion and folds the backrest in one simple action.
