Limited edition Lamborghini hypercar teased
The Italian manufacturer has released another video clip, teasing its new 819bhp Aventador-based rival for the Ferrari FXX K
Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse race development team has teased a new, limited edition hypercar. This latest special edition model will be based on the Aventador SVJ and feature a host of cosmetic and performance upgrades.
The model, which does not yet have a name, is due to debut in summer this year. The company’s latest teaser video shows the Ferrari FXX K rival haring around the Modena race track in Italy. Close-up shots of the car’s nose and tail offer our first look at its front canards, braced front splitter and redesigned rear diffuser, complete with a twin-exit exhaust and an F1-style central brake light.
Other cosmetic revisions over the Aventador SVJ include a completely redesigned nose with new air intakes and blanking plates in place of the standard car’s headlamp units. There’s also a large engine intake scoop mounted to the roof, a set of unique centre-lock alloy wheels and an enormous rear wing, which looks to be made from carbon fibre.
Lamborghini says it’ll be powered by a 819bhp naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine. It’s the same basic unit found in the Aventador SVJ, albeit with a suite of performance upgrades which result in a 60bhp increase. The engine will likely be mated to a sequential gearbox and a reworked version of the standard car’s four-wheel drive system, which will feature an uprated self-locking differential.
The limited edition hypercar will also feature a host of chassis improvements. Lamborghini’s teaser videos suggest it’ll be fitted with a set of enormous disc brakes, uprated Brembo calipers and grippy Pirelli tyres. It will also feature a reworked suspension setup focussed for track use.
