New Lotus Exige 20th Anniversary special edition launched

New Lotus Exige 20th Anniversary is offered in Exige Series 1 colours and gets boosted standard specification

Lotus has revealed a new special edition Exige marking 20 years and three-generations of the model’s place in the brand’s line-up.

Called Exige 20th Anniversary, this new limited edition sports car is based on the current Exige Sport 410, but features a number of distinctive and unique design features inspired by the Series 1 Exige.

The Exige 20th Anniversary is available in three bright colour schemes evoking the palette of the Series 1. Buyers can choose from Chrome Orange, Calypso Red or Laser Blue, while three more contemporary colours - Saffron Yellow, Motorsport Black and Arctic Silver are offered.

The body-coloured roof, side air intake pods and rear wing, plus the black ‘shark fin’ stone chip protector ahead of the rear wheel are all said to be touches inspired by the Series 1 Exige. Inside, the two-tone Alcantara upholstery on the seats uses panelled stitching which is also a nod to the original car.

On the front wings and rear bumpers, a black 410 Sport logo with a profile silhouette of the Series 1 Exige has been applied. This motif is embroidered into the seats and found on the dashboard build plaque too. Elsewhere, the rear wing endplates gain ‘20’ logos.

Nitron three-way adjustable dampers are fitted as standard. Several convenience and comfort features not equipped on the regular Exige Sport 410 are found as standard, such as a DAB digital radio with Bluetooth, cruise control, ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels and an Alcantara steering wheel.

Lotus has not confirmed any engine changes. As such, the Sport 410 uses a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 developing 410bhp, sending power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. Lotus says 0-62mph takes 3.4 seconds, with top speed 180mph.

No production limit has been announced, with the Exige 410 20th Anniversary on sale now priced from £79,900.
