Limited-edition Lotus Exige LF1 launched
Lotus reveals special-edition LF1 based on the Exige S and inspired by the brand’s Formula One heritage
Lotus has unveiled a limited-run Exige LF1 designed to celebrate the brand’s Formula 1 heritage. Only 81 models will receive the special Lotus F1-inspired updates, with each individual car celebrating a specific Grand Prix victory: ranging from Monaco in 1960 to Kimi Raikkonen’s first-place finish at Australia in 2013.
Based on the standard Exige S, the LF1 is finished in the Formula 1 team’s iconic black and gold livery, complete with red accents. There’s further gold for the cast alloys – which measure 17-inches up front and 18-inches at the back – underlining the motorsport connection.
It’s not all about style, though. Performance-enhancing extras come in the form of the Exige Race Pack with Dynamic Performance Management system, as well as two-piece brake disks and Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tyres. Added comfort can be achieved thanks to an optional £350 Convenience Pack, with customers also able to opt for heated seats and rear parking sensors.
Featuring the Exige S’ supercharged 3.5-litre V6, the 1176kg LF1 offers 345bhp and 400Nm of torque, resulting in 0-62mph taking 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 170mph.
On top of this, owners will automatically qualify as Exige LF1 Members, an exclusive club granting access to behind the scenes tours, discounts and memorabilia in the form of a Lotus F1 car key fob, USB stick and 1:2 scale replica of Roman Grosjean’s racing helmet.
The Exige LF1 is now on show at the Canary Wharf Motorexpo in London, and will appearing later this week in its left-hand drive European-spec at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Prices start at £62,900, and Lotus has also confirmed the new limited-edition is available across all markets outside of the US.
