Mazda MX-5 price and release date revealed
Mazda's fourth generation roadster will start from £18,495, and order books open this month
The all-new Mazda MX-5 is one of 2015's most eagerly awaited cars, and the fourth-generation roadster will be available to order on the 27th of April. Prices kick off at £18,495 for the 1.5-litre SKYACTIV petrol, and rise to £23,295.
Five specifications and two petrol engines will be offered at launch, alongside seven colour choices. That headline price gets you the naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre petrol unit which produces 129bhp and 139g/km of CO2.
Base SE spec comes with LED headlights, 16-inch alloys, a leather steering wheel, electric heated mirrors and air-conditioning. For an extra £740 SE-L adds daytime running lights, climate control, Bluetooth, and a seven-inch colour touchscreen with DAB and Bluetooth.
The 159bhp 2.0-litre SKYACTIV petrol engine starts at £20,095, and is marked out with 17-inch Gunmetal alloys, a limited-slip differential, black door mirrors and a strut brace. £600 gets you SE-L Nav spec and a touchscreen navigation unit.
Top-spec Sport starts at £22,695 and adds uprated suspension with Bilstein dampers, adaptive auto lights and wipers, parking sensors, keyless entry, lane departure warning and a premium Bose sound system.
The short options list includes cross-traffic alert, Blind-Spot Monitoring and tan leather upholstery. Mazda will take pre-orders for the two-seater now, but the online configurator will go live on the 27th allowing customers to specify their model.
