McLaren 570S review - pictures

This is the McLaren 570S.

Originally revealed in 2015, the 570S is the most popular model in the British marque’s line-up.

Starting at around £145,000, the wonder from Woking does not feature on the Auto Express list of cheapest cars.

The 570S is the hottest in McLaren line-up, which features the 540C and 570GT. That being said, those two models share much of the same engineering and drivetrain.

As with the rest of the McLaren range of cars, the 570s is built around a central carbon fibre chassis tub, know as the MonoCell II. 

For users looking to spend more time at the circuit can opt for the track pack. This comes with lightweight wheels, contrasting roof colour and sports exhaust.

As you would expect the 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 is no slouch. Plant you right foot firmly to the floor and you will reach 60mph from a standstill in 3.1 seconds.

There is also a spider version, with an electrically powered roof, for that wind in the hair motoring so many Brits love. 

Just in case you were thinking of economy, the 570S can be nursed in to returning 26mph. Also tax for the first year is £2,000, which cold buy you a decidedly average 10-year old Fiesta.

Inside, McLaren employs its ‘driving first’ philosophy, with a simple instrument cluster and IRIS system.
