Mercedes-AMG G 63 and G 65 Exclusive Editions debut at Frankfurt
Two new special edition Mercedes G-Class off-roaders have been shown at Frankfurt with unique design tweaks and additional spec
Mercedes has revealed two new special edition G-Class SUVs at the Frankfurt Motor Show, positioned as new range topping versions of the firm’s old-school off-roader.
Both V8 powered G 63 and V12 powered G 65 variants will soon be available in Exclusive Edition trim levels, but we won’t be getting them here in the UK – British buyers aren’t even offered the regular G 65 in the first place.
Exclusive Edition cars are marked out by a number of design and trim revisions inside and out. Protective stainless steel plating runs around the underside of the car, while unique AMG racing stripes run down the sides of the doors. Around the back, the spare wheel cover is finished in the main body colour, too.
Both cars ride on a set of 21-inch five-twin spoke alloy wheels, finished in matt black on G 63 cars or ceramically polished on the G 65 model. Alongside these wheels, both cars can be finished in a unique monza grey magno matt paint finish.
In the cabin, the Designo Exclusive interior trim package is included as standard alongside two-tone leather upholstery. The Seat Comfort package is also bundled in, introducing multicontour and climate-controlled seats for the driver and front passenger. Prices in Germany will kick off at €163,125.20 – roughly £150,000.
