Mercedes SL video review
Watch our sister site CarBuyer's video review of the new Mercedes SL350
In case you were wondering, SL stands for Superlicht – which means super light. And while this may seem like an inappropriate name considering the Mercedes SL weighs almost 1.7 tonnes, the new model is actually 100kgs lighter than its predecessor.
That’s because the new Mercedes SL's body is made from aluminium, while the roof is constructed from even lighter magnesium.
Inside Mercedes has pulled out all the stops to create a quality feel, while the sporty design has clearly been inspired by the SLS AMG supercar.
