New York Motor Show preview
The New York Motor Show kicks off this week, with debuts including the new Mercedes GL and an all-new Dodge Viper
The New York Motor Show gets underway this week, and we’re looking forward to seeing some of the models destined for launch in the UK hidden amongst the Lincolns, GMCs and Acura models we’ll never see on our shores.
We’ll finally get a look at the new Hyundai Santa Fe following weeks of teasers and – at the other end of the large SUV scale – we’re expecting to see the wraps pulled off the all-new Mercedes GL-Class.
What we do know for sure is that Mercedes will be showcasing the bi-turbo V12-powered SL65 AMG, and the facelifted GLK – although that's still not being built as a right-hand-drive model.
Fisker – the company behind the Karma plug-in hybrid – will pull the wraps off its Audi A5 Sportback-rivalling four-door Atlantic, which boasts similar plug-in hybrid technology to its larger brother.
BMW will be showcasing its all-new M6 Convertile, while there are rumours that an updated X1 crossover will be shown. Mitsubishi is reported to be showcasing a facelifted Outlander Sport, which will make it to the UK as an updated ASX.
The biggest debut for fans of all things American is the all-new Dodge Viper, which will be renamed under Dodge's SRT performance division.
