Peugeot reveals stylish new 208 Black Edition
Black edition 208 gets 81bhp PureTech petrol engine and £14,595 price tag
Peugeot has quietly revealed a new special edition version of its 208 supermini, which the carmaker says will become a ‘key’ variant of the three-door 208 model.
Called the 208 Black Edition, it gets a handful of unique styling tweaks and finishes to make it stand out against the rest of the range.
Three paint colour finishes are available – Nera Black, Bianca White and Hurricane Grey, and all are combined with gloss black finishes on various exterior parts, such as the door mirrors. 16-inch gloss black alloy wheels with white laser engraving are fitted as standard.

Inside, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display is fitted, alongside Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, smartphone MirrorLink and a DAB digital radio.
Only one engine is available – the 81bhp 1.2-litre PureTech 82 petrol. Peugeot claims up to 62.8mpg on a combined run. Prices for the 208 Black Edition kick off from £14,595, and it is on sale now.
While the current 208 was facelifted in 2015, it’s been on sale since 2012, so Peugeot no doubt has a new version of its Ford Fiesta rival in the pipeline. Auto Express reported last year that a new version looks likely to arrive in 2018, boasting sharper looks, new engines, a new platform and an all-electric version could be on the cards too.
