Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 ENLITEN review

Bridgestone's entry scored well in the areas that'll matter most to UK drivers

  • Score: 99.6%
  • Rating: =2nd
  • Price: £98

Although not consistently strong across all three surfaces, the new Bridgestone scores highly in the ones that matter most here in the UK: the wet and dry. It’s not as bad in the snow as its rankings might suggest – fifth in braking, sixth in traction and sixth around the handling course, too. Around the lap it felt good, just a little less predictable and precise compared to the quickest tyres.

It was an impressive equal first in wet braking, first in both of the aquaplaning tests, and finished fourth on the wet circle and around the tricky wet handling track. It wasn’t far off the pace in either case, though it wasn’t the most impressive around the lap, being less keen than the best to carve into corners and haul out of them. Overall, a good but not outstanding performance.

It really shone in less wet conditions, finishing second in dry braking, just a half metre behind the best, and second in dry handling, a mere tenth behind the fastest. It felt superb: grippy and with just the right amount of adjustability to drive with confidence. There’s a price to be paid in economy, though – the Bridgestone had by far the highest rolling resistance. Still, it scored well where it mattered to earn equal second.

We say:

“Not the best for economy but delivers in the wet and especially the dry.”

Blackcircles.com says:

“Many customers have found this to be a reliable choice for all-season driving.”
